Origin
Back when I was in the middle school, a friend and I started work on a fanfic that... I'll be honest, was awful. But the characters we made up had potential, so they were spared while everything else was scraped.
What Once Was
Most of this changed during the research phase
- Esho and Miu were originally named Amani and Misha.
- They once had magically powers.
- Miu was once adopted. In the very first drafts of the story, she had been abandoned by her parents and was found by Esho's father. This was abandoned in favor of a more historically accurate and less angstastic past.
- the reason Esho and Miu wanted gold so they'd have something to bring back to their mother's people.
- Their mother was from the West. You know what's out there? Desert. You know who lives there? No one.

- Esho and Miu have little brother name Adajo and a little sister named Aloli.
- They're twins.
- Their father was a thief before his untimely death.
- Nane is a slave from the far east (Not Japan).
